Punteggio 96/100 · Da bere 2026, Jeb Dunnuck, Sep 2022

The 2020 Clos De Vougeot Grand Cru has some of the best aromatics in the lineup and is loaded with notions of red, blue, and black fruits as well as spicy wood, graphite, spring flowers, and a kiss of minerality that develops beautifully with time in the glass. As with all Bernstein's 2020s, it brings the fruit and is young and unevolved on the palate, with a rounded, mouth-filling texture, beautiful purity, ultra-fine tannins, and a great finish. Qualitatively, it's in the same ballpark as both the 2018 and 2019, yet it has a touch more overall ripeness and texture. It's a gorgeous effort, but do your best to hide bottles for 4-5 years. It should hit prime time around a decade after the vintage.

From vines planted mid slope, mid vineyard. Cask sample. Deep ruby; violets, elegance and finesse; structure to go. Good wine. (MH)

Punteggio 88-90/100 · Da bere 2025-2042, Neal Martin, Dec 2021

The 2020 Clos de Vougeot Grand Cru has a ripe black cherry and cassis scented nose, rather oaky and just a little generic. The palate is medium-bodied with heavy oak tannins dominating the entry and obscuring the essence of Pinoté on the generic finish. The problem with this Clos de Vougeot is that it does not "sing" of Clos de Vougeot.
