Punteggio 95/100 · Da bere 2017-2035, Kristaps Karklins, Wine Advocate, Dec 2025

From a high-maturity vintage that saw a September harvest, the 2006 Comtes de Champagne Rosé—disgorged in 2016 with a dosage of nine grams per liter—is showing beautifully, bursting from the glass with a bouquet that mingles aromas of cacao nib, wild strawberry and sweet spices with hints of burnt, buttered toast. On the palate, it's medium- to full-bodied, ample and vinous, with succulent yet racy acids and a long, perfumed finish. Tasted side by side, the 2006 Comtes de Champagne Rosé reveals a slightly tauter musculature than the currently more overtly gourmand 2009. When Pierre-Emmanuel Taittinger reacquired Taittinger, restoring it to family ownership, the house ceased using herbicides from 2006 onward in its estate vineyards, renewing its commitment to cultivating living soils.

The 2006 Comtes de Champagne Rosé has come together beautifully since I last tasted it. Time has released its inner concentration and layers. Exotic spice, blood orange, pomegranate, cedar and sweet spice tobacco lend notable flair, with the the Pinot very much front and center.

Punteggio 18/20 · Da bere 2015-2025, Jancis Robinson MW, Oct 2018

100% grand cru vineyards. Pinot Noir from Bouzy. Chardonnay from: Avize, Chouilly, Le Mesnil-sur-Oger, Oger. 70% Pinot Noir, 30% Chardonnay and 15% red wine. Eight years' ageing on lees. Disgorged 16 December 2015. Dosage 9 g/l. Tasted blind. Pale orangey copper. Some dry phenolic finish but there is lots of round, sweet fruit in the middle. Less lively than the other rosé champagnes but definitely richer, even though the end is definitely dry. Interesting wine! (JR)

70% Pinot Noir, 30% Chardonnay. Pale salmon pink. Floral, if very light, nose. Off dry with a lightly bitter finish. More than a hint of cough medicine about this – in a nice way! For food – but ready to drink at the table. (JR)
