This is layered with blue and purple fruit and spice � exotic, scented and sensual. It has amazing concentration and length, with a pure, long palate that is edge by mineral freshness. There�s layer upon layer of fulsome fruit here. Next-level wine.

The 2020 Vosne-Romanée Les Beaumonts 1er Cru has a slight reduction on the nose. Red plum, raspberry, and bergamot scents mingle with sous-bois and Indian ink. It is understated at the moment. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannins, fine acidity, tautness and freshness. This is one of the more mineral-driven Premier Crus from the appellation. Fine tension, this contains plenty of nascent energy, with a dash of cracked black pepper livening things up. Excellent. Tasted blind at the Burgfest tasting.
