Note di degustazione
The 2019 Morey-Saint-Denis Les Ruchots 1er Cru has a fragrant bouquet, exquisite delineation and beautifully-integrated oak that allows the dark, plummy fruit to flourish, accentuated by touches of black pepper and pencil box. The palate is medium-bodied, edgy, fresh and saline, with a nicely proportioned, quintessential Morey finish that has just the right amount of dryness to tempt you back for another sip. Excellent. Tasted blind at the Burgfest tasting.

Vines planted 1955. Cask sample. Healthy mid crimson. There’s depth here that draws you in. The Morey floral side is subtle but present, integrated with a light peppery quality to the darker fruit. On the palate, the tannins are super-fine in texture yet firm and dry in effect. Long, refined beauty with a mouth-wateringly dry, persistent finish. (JH)
The 2019 Morey-Saint-Denis Les Ruchots 1er Cru is elegant and refined on the nose, a mixture of blackberry, sous-bois and a light sea spray aroma. It just needs to gel together and it should do during the remainder of its barrel maturation. The palate is medium-bodied with grainy tannins. Very Morey in style with a sense of conservatism and linearity on the white pepper-dashed finish, I appreciate its persistence in the mouth. Cellar this for 4-5 years.
