Note di degustazione
Bottled. From our tasting notes database, it looks as though 2018 was the first vintage Le Grappin added a red wine from this vineyard to the white they have made since 2014. From 40- and 70-year-old vines, certified organic in 2019. 95% whole cluster. 13-day cuvaison, no SO2 during vinification, one pigeage on the eleventh day, no remontages. Aged for 12 months in 300- to 400-litre barrels that were between one and five years old so no new oak. Unfined, unfiltered. Transparent crimson. Earthy, minerally note on the nose. Low-key nose but very much a wine of terroir with a real core of embryonic fruit. Quite dry, sandy tannins on the end. Very true and authentic with overriding sweet, pure fruit but good freshness too. And still quite youthful with a taffeta texture. (JR)
