Note di degustazione
Almost entirely Grenache from les Bédines, the 2019 Chateauneuf du Pape Les Safres delivers ripe black-cherry fruit and is remarkably silky and full-bodied on the mid-palate, then turns more firmly tannic and dusty on the finish. Give it a couple of years, at least.

The 2019 Châteauneuf Du Pape Les Safres checks in as 85% Grenache and 15% Mourvèdre and has a complex, nuanced, medium to full-bodied style that just begs to be drunk. Offering up lots of red and black fruits, morello cherries, Provençal herbs, and saddle leather notes, it has enough structure to evolve for 15 years or more. The 2019s from Le Clos du Caillou showed brilliantly, and this is clearly a great vintage for the estate, with the wines equaling what was produced in 2016, 2010, 2007, 2005, and 2001. These are silky, elegant, yet also concentrated wines across the board, and despite the multitude of cuvées, they all have singular, distinct personalities. These are brilliant wines readers will love to have in their cellars.
Shimmering ruby. Highly perfumed blueberry, cherry, spicecake and potpourri scents and a hint of exotic spices on the expressive nose. Juicy and appealingly sweet, offering vibrant red and blue fruit, lavender and spicecake flavors that steadily deepen as the wine opens up. In a graceful style, with polished tannins giving shape to an impressively long, sappy finish.
