The 2020 Poesia has another well-defined bouquet with blackberry, tobacco and light forest floor scents, very refined. The palate is medium-bodied with dry, grainy tannins and moderate weight. It is pliant toward the finish with a fine bead of acidity, fanning out with a sense of confidence that bodes well for the future. Tasted blind at the annual Southwold tasting.

The 2020 Poesia has a slightly more opulent bouquet than the Barde-Haut, with perfumed black cherries, crushed violet and peony. Nicely focused, with wonderful purity. The palate is very poised, and very elegant, with wonderful tension and a silky smooth and very tensile finish. This has stepped up a gear since I tasted it from barrel. It is highly recommended.
The 2020 Poesia is superb, just as it was from barrel. Black cherry, plum, spice, new leather, licorice, cedar and mocha infuse this broad, ample Saint-Émilion with remarkable complexity. This is an especially dense, full-throttle Saint-Émilion, but it all works so well.
The Poesia is absolutely gorgeous in 2020. Bright, beautifully perfumed and elegant, it’s a total knockout. The energy and purity of the flavors is just remarkable. Sweet red cherry, red plum, tobacco, cedar, mint, mocha and dried flowers all meld together. Simply dazzling, and it may turn out to be the best vintage yet. That's pretty much all there is to it.
