Note di degustazione
The 2020 Lune D'Or Blanc is deeper and richer yet still plays in the focused, mineral-laced, vibrant, and medium-bodied style of the vintage. Honeyed lime, melon, lemon zest, and some crushed stone notes define the aromatics, and it has good mid-palate concentration, high quality, integrated acidity, and a great finish. It's going to evolve for a decade.

The 2020 Lune d'Or has a strict, stony nose with touches of grapefruit and yellow plum filtering through with aeration. Quite reserved, yet well defined. The palate is well balanced with a touch of bitter lemon and orange rind on the entry, fine weight, waxy-textured with grapefruit a dab of ginger on the finish. This is a delightful Lune d'Or that deserves three or four years in bottle.
The 2020 Lune d'Or is laced with hints of tangerine peel, pineapple, white flowers and a kiss of spice. This layered, sensual Sémillon/Sauvignon blend is exquisitely delicious. Drink it over the next few years.
The 2020 Lune d'Or is a wine that somehow did not wow me when tasted from barrel. Now in bottle…well, I am not inclined to change my view by much. The aromatics just feel too contained, especially juxtaposed with other vintages. The palate is well balanced with a tang of spice on the entry and good weight in the mouth, yet I am still looking for more personality, a bit of pizzazz on the finish. Maybe I was hard with my assessment from barrel, yet I still think it needs to look towards the 2014 and 2017 to see what is possible.
