The 2020 Clément-Pichon has meliorated on the nose since tasting it from barrel, with more cohesion, brambly red fruit intermixed with tobacco and cedar. The palate is medium-bodied with fine tannins, tobacco-infused black fruit but it pulls up a bit short on the off-dry finish. Needs more personality.
The 2020 Clément-Pichon is a tasty, fruit Haut-Médoc Cru Bourgeois to drink now and over the next handful of years. Succulent red/purplish fruit, dried flowers, mint, tobacco and cedar lend quite a bit of aromatic and flavor complexity. In 2020, Clément-Pichon has an exotic quality that is quite appealing.
Dark olives, blackcurrants, dark plums and cocoa powder to the nose. A full-bodied Haut-Medoc charged with firm yet creamy tannins that dissolve along with the fleshy fruit. Pretty long, too. Drinkable now, but better in 2025.
