The 2019 Nuits Saint-Georges Clos de l'Arlot 1er Cru has a very well-defined bouquet of gorgeous red cherries, raspberry coulis and light floral scents that blossom in the glass. The palate is medium-bodied with a twist of orange rind on the entry. Deep, cohesive and energetic, this is a Nuits Saint-Georges with a welcome skip in its step. It should age well in bottle too. Tasted blind at the Burgfest tasting.

The 2019 Nuits-Saint-Georges Clos de L’Arlot 1er Cru, which contains two-thirds whole bunches, has a very harmonious and pure bouquet with dark cherries, raspberry and pressed rose petal (it does not display any peppery scents that I noticed from barrel). The palate is very well defined with plenty of fruit, a little more rondeur than the 2018, a little spicy and peppery towards the finish with very good persistence. Excellent. Tasted at the Domaine de L’Arlot tasting at La Cabotte in London.
Light garnet. Raspberry fruit on the nose. And if anything a tiny bit too ripe and sweet. Quite assertive sandy tannins and acidity. Still a bit brutal. (JR)
Cask sample. Broad, sweetly floral nose. Really appealing with extremely bright fruit and snappy acidity. Much more energy than most whites from the Côte de Nuits. No obvious oak, which is much subtler than in the reds. Impressively long and well constituted. (JR)
