Note di degustazione
The 2019 Chambolle-Musigny Les Amoureuses 1er Cru is more muted on the nose compared to its peers, and a little more advanced, showing red berry fruit intermixed with balsamic, Italian delicatessen and pencil shavings. This is attractive, but it does not have the audaciousness of its peers. The palate is medium-bodied, with a slightly meaty opening and smooth, soft tannins. Dark chocolate and caramel notes toward the finish suggest a more lactic style that I find a little off-putting. Tasted blind at the Burgfest tasting.

From Vougeraie’s two plots, the 2019 Musigny Grand Cru was sorted with Mozart’s Greatest Hits playing in the background (not joking) and includes 100% whole bunch. The exquisite bouquet of beautifully defined mineral-driven red and black fruit does this noble vineyard justice. The palate is medium-bodied with lithe tannins, good grip and depth. Quite sweet and ripe, it offers candied red fruit laced with orange zest and a touch of cassis toward the long finish. Gorgeous.
