Punteggio 92/100 · Da bere 2025-2050, William Kelley, Wine Advocate, Jan 2022

Wafting from the glass with notions of peonies, wintergreen, plums, warm spices and licorice, the 2019 Charmes-Chambertin Grand Cru is full-bodied, layered and velvety, with a broad, open-knit profile and a saline, nicely defined finish.

Punteggio 91-94/100 · Da bere 2036, Allen Meadows, Burghound, Jan 2021

(from a .41 ha holding with 5 parcels situated in Charmes proper; vinified with 20% whole clusters). A more elegant nose exhibits notes of both red and dark currant, plum, violet and subtle spice and earth nuances. The rich and solidly voluminous flavors possess a caressing mid-palate mouthfeel that contrasts somewhat with the powerful but still finely textured finish. This needs to develop more depth, but the underlying structure and material appear to be very promising in terms of development potential. (91-94)/2036+

Punteggio 92/100 · Da bere 2023-2038, Neal Martin, Dec 2020

The 2019 Charmes-Chambertin Grand Cru has a tightly wound nose, perhaps overtaken by some of the high-performing Premier Crus from Duroché. This is quite earthy in style, and a little broody at the moment. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannins, quite fleshy and rounded and delivering swaths of sweet red fruit on the finish, though it does not possess the complexity or density of other Grand Crus. Drink over 12–15 years.
