Punteggio 87-89/100 · William Kelley, Wine Advocate, Jan 2021

The 2019 Gevrey-Chambertin Village opens in the glass with notes of wild berry fruit, plums, spices and loamy soil. Medium-bodied, fleshy and elegantly textural, with tangy acids and melting tannins, it will offer a broad drinking window.

Punteggio 88/100 · Da bere 2022-2030, Neal Martin, Dec 2020

The 2019 Gevrey-Chambertin Village, from the domaine, is completely destemmed and matured in 15% new oak. It displays a little more precision than its counterpart under the négociant label, ripe and nicely focused. The palate is medium-bodied with saturated tannins, a fleshy mouthfeel and a touch of piquancy on the finish. This should drink well for 5–7 years, possibly longer.

Fruit from 10 parcels (total 3 ha), some from the lower parts such as Le Fourneau and the rest on the Brochon side, eg Champerrier. Their biggest bottling – 56 barrels in 2018 but 31in 2019 – and a little bit of new oak (smaller volumes for other wines so they are less likely to use any new oak on them). Tank sample but about to be bottled. Fresh nose and much more intensity than the Bourgogne. Again quite marked acidity. Needs a bit of time to settle down? Even a little impression of greenness.
