2019 Meursault Goutte d'Or

Despite the thin top soil, Jadot believes the Gouttes d’Or to be the creamiest and roundest of the Meursault Premiers Crus, stating: “It is really the perfect example of what people think Meursault should be.” East-facing, the vineyard enjoys a lot of sunshine bringing concentration to the wine. The site is renowned for its long ageing potential. Les Gouttes d’Or is one of the cooler Premier Cru sites in Meursault and therefore excels in warmer vintages. It has a beautifully rich golden colour and a lovely expressive florality on the nose. It is pure opulence on the palate, full-bodied, exhibiting huge, spherical breadth which fills the palate. Honeyed melon, yellow plum and white peach fruit are in abundance, but the wine tightens up nicely on the finish. This is a wonderfully intense and serious Chardonnay.
