Inky ruby. Dark berries, vanilla, licorice and oak spices on the nose and in the mouth. In a weighty, powerful style, showing good breadth and a touch of smokiness on the jammy finish, which is framed by dusty tannins.

100% Tempranillo. Vineyards planted between 600 and 700 m above sea level in Labastida, Lancriego and Kripan/Cripán. Integrated pest management. Low yields and hand-harvested. Each plot fermented and aged separately. Vats designed to eliminate the contribution of the seeds. Aged in new American and French oak barrels for 14 months. 6,887 bottles. Tasted blind. A lot of wood of very good quality. Very sweet, ripe fruit. Fabulous texture! Really well worked. Sweetness and flavour together. Modern, clean and fairly precise. Beautiful texture, and juicy velvet on the palate. It is not the most complex, but it has so much softness and velvetiness that you will be seduced – so tactile. The wood is very present, but it will become integrated. (FC)
Mid crimson. Clean, light nose. Much fresher than its stablemate Ansa. Rather lively and tangy. Very different style and more refreshing. Pretty sandy tannins on the end. Probably needs another year in bottle to settle those down but you could drink it with food now. Just a little pinched on the end at the moment but congratulations to Bodega 202 on making two such different styles. (JR)
