Served blind alongside a Clos de la Roche 2012 . Dark garnet. Deep-flavoured and spicily aromatic. The bone-dry finish led me to Burgundy! The fruit was not quite as fresh as the Clos de la Roche. (JR)

Savory ripe red and black fruit, freshly picked herbs and dried flowers on the nose. Medium-bodied, but don’t be fooled for a second, because the palate just takes off. Fruit and spice are carried by fine, silky tannins on the palate, which shows continuously evolving, nuanced intensity. Truly spectacular. This will age beautifully. Drink or hold.
Medium ruby-purple, the 2018 Pinot Noir The Haven Vineyard opens slowly to fresh blackberry and rhubarb fruits with notes of tar, licorice, dried violets and Earl Grey tea leaves—it's aromatically very layered. The medium-bodied palate begins with minerally undertones and blossoms out to bright, floral and citrus-laced fruits. It feels packed with very finely grained tannins and finishes long and perfumed with great pops of freshness. This will benefit from another 2-3 years in bottle.
The Pinot Noir The Haven Vineyard Estate is rich and unctuous in the glass. A rush of dark red/purplish berry fruit, blood orange, mint and dried flowers builds as this vivid, polished Pinot shows off everything it's got. The 2018 is striking and exceptionally beautiful, with an interplay of power and finesse that is truly captivating. The 40% whole clusters are seamlessly woven into the wine's fabric.
