Punteggio 95/100 · Da bere 2024-2034, Eric Guido, Vinous, May 2024

A rich and seductive blend of almond custard, white flowers, pears and spice wafts up from the 2017 Chardonnay Summum. This soothes with its soft and enveloping textures as mineral-tinged orchard fruits swirl beneath an air of inner florals. It finishes incredibly long and full of zesty tension. Leaving hints of saffron, ginger-spiked green apple and a residual bump of vibrant acidity that maintains a fantastically fresh persona. This is a perfect example of gorgeously integrated oak. The 2017 is in a beautiful place today, yet it’s still slowly working its way to maturity. Beautiful.

Punteggio 95/100 · Da bere 2022-2030, Josh Raynolds, Sep 2020

Brilliant straw-yellow. Fresh and energetic on the incisive nose, displaying fresh pear, nectarine and Meyer lemon scents accompanied by suave floral, saffron and chalky mineral flourishes. Silky and open-knit, offering densely packed yet shockingly lively citrus and orchard fruit, honeysuckle, oyster shell and saffron flavors that show superb tension and back-end lift. Finely delineated and lithe in character, finishing extremely long and seamless, with vibrant mineral cut and lingering floral and orchard fruit notes.

Punteggio 92/100 · Da bere 2020-2026, Erin Brooks, Wine Advocate, Apr 2020

The 2017 Chardonnay Summum opens with touches of gunflint and candle smoke, very slowly giving up Red Delicious apple peel, crushed almonds, saline and stone with notes of honey, white blossom and a savory undercurrent. The palate is light to medium-bodied, precise and minerally, framed by tangy acidity and finishing with tons of energy.
