Note di degustazione
The 2017 Biodynamic Reserve White comes from specially selected sites and is matured in new 300-liter barrels. There is initially a bit of funk on the nose, although it does clarify with aeration to offer freshly sliced lime, Granny Smith apple and nettle aromas. The palate is taut and fresh on the saline entry, showing superb acidity and real precision and weight toward the melon and grapefruit finish. Don’t be afraid to give this a short decant.

The 2017 Reserve White has a slightly reductive nose with a clean crisp core of citrus tones with a distinct mineral rockiness and soft oak baking spices. The palate is zippy, fresh and clean with a structured and mineral-driven texture across the midpalate. The finish is bright, clean and correct. Reyneke wines have great texture and the 2017's are showing really great at the moment. Get ahold of some and check them out. These are good and honest biodynamic wines that give pleasure now but can be held in the cellar for aging if you prefer more mature wines.
Fruit from more vigorous, later-ripening vines compared with the regular bottling and this went into new barriques for a year. Smoky, tingly nose. The new oak doesn’t show because the fruit is so dense. Really vibrant and zesty, even if more mineral and Sancerre-like than the 2018 Sauvignon. (JR)
