The 2019 Poesia offers simple, light-hearted open-knit red berry fruit. Briary on the nose, the oak is nicely integrated - carefree. The palate, like the Côte de Baleau, has closed down, making it almost impossible to read blind, ergo, I will not score based on this sample. Tasted blind at the Southwold annual tasting.

The 2019 Poesia has the richest and most opulent bouquet with precocious black cherry, glycerine, lavender and violet aromas, bursting from the glass and gaining intensity with aeration. The palate is medium-bodied with plush, ripe tannins. There is a lot of puppy fat here, rounded and perhaps "sexy" compared to the 2018, mouth-filling and voluminous. This will need time. Tasted at the Poesia vertical in Saint-Émilion.
The 2019 Poesia has an expressive bouquet featuring a mélange of red and black fruit and black pepper, the limestone terroir lending tension. The palate is medium-bodied with ripe tannins, perhaps a little more powerful than the Barde-Haut, and displays very fine precision on the finish. A touch of white pepper furnishes the aftertaste. Probably the best Poesia ever.
The 2019 Poesia is one of the finest wines I have ever tasted from Hélène and Patrice Lévêque. Rich and sumptuous, Poesia marries intensity with vibrancy in grand style. Poesia is a big, explosive Saint-Émilion, but it also possesses tremendous energy. Dark fruit, gravel, incense, spice and saddle leather open with a bit of coaxing. There is an exotic quality to Poesia in 2019 that is especially alluring. Brilliant.
