Note di degustazione
The 2019 Beaune Clos du Roi 1er Cru has a very high-toned nose with a bit of VA. This feels as if it was picked a day or two later than necessary. After 5 minutes, this comes across a little stewed. The palate is very ripe and confit -like, with a sweet core of plush, spicy red fruit. Rounded in texture and chewy, there is again nagging volatility toward the finish that cannot disguise its alcohol. I would swear this is New World if I didn't know it was from Beaune. Tasted blind at the Burgfest tasting.

The 2019 Beaune Clos du Roi 1er Cru usually has low acidity and needs a little correction. This presents a clean, pure bouquet of dark cherries and boysenberry. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannins. A little citric toward the finish, which feels slightly pinched. This has the highest alcohol among Tollot-Beaut’s 2019s, at 14.6°.
