Orange blossom, honeyed peach, flowers, and caramelized quince all emerge from the 2019 Château Sigalas Rabaud, a brilliant Sauternes that's drinking beautifully today. Medium to full-bodied on the palate, it has a pure, layered mouthfeel, terrific overall balance, and a great finish. It has another two decades of prime drinking ahead of it. Drink 2026-2045.

As I wrote previously, the 2019 Sigalas Rabaud needs to muster more delineation and precision on the nose to match its peers. There is a light resinous element here. The palate is better with crisp acidity, fresh with stem ginger and orange rind infusing the honeyed fruit. It's pretty viscous towards the finish, though it needs a tad more complexity. Fine, maybe give it another couple of years. Tasted from a bottle sent directly from Sigalas Rabaud to the UK.
The 2019 Sigalas-Rabaud has a simple but attractive nose with yellow plum, dried honey and light saffron scents. The palate is fresh on the entry with a viscous texture, white chocolate tinged honeyed fruit with a dab of stem ginger and quince towards the finish. Lovely. Tasted blind at the Southwold annual tasting.
Tasted blind. Light, lightly sweaty nose. Then floral with a note of refreshing botrytis. Bracing and well balanced. Aperitif Sauternes. No faults. GV (JR)
