Lots of ripe blackberry, cherry, tobacco, chocolate, and leafy herbs emerge from the 2019 Château Les Trois Croix, a plump, medium to full-bodied Fronsac with solid overall balance, ripe yet present tannins, a wonderful sense of freshness, and a great finish. It's a much more complete, classy wine now from bottle compared to barrel, and it's well worth seeking out. While it's drinking nicely today, I wouldn't be surprised to see it evolve for a good decade.

The 2019 Les Trois Croix has a beautifully defined bouquet of brambly red fruit laced with pencil lead and woodland aromas, billowing with aeration. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannins that disguise the backbone of this Fronsac, but the freshness is obvious on the finish. Superb.
Full bottle 1,241 g. From the family estate of Patrick Léon, once régisseur at Ch Mouton-Rothschild. Bright glowing crimson. Ruined by TCA alas. (JR)
