Punteggio 94/100 · Da bere 2030-2044, Jane Anson, Inside Bordeaux, Dec 2025

Touch of reduction on the opening aromatics, clears quickly to show the precision and clarity of the wine's structure and architecture. Gingerbread and baking spices alongside creamy cassis, bilberry and blackberry fruits, this is lovely quality, still young but promising a ton of joy. Laurent David estate director, Sénéclauze family owners. 50% new oak for ageing, Diam cork, cold soak, natural yeasts, punching down, harvest September 24 to October 10.

The 2019 Marquis de Terme was tasted from two bottles. The first is a bit muffled on the nose, while the second demonstrates much more freshness and mineralité , with hints of melted road tar and pressed flowers coming through. The palate is medium-bodied with a gentle grip. It's dense on the mid-palate, but maybe the 2020 bestowed more precision and tension on the finish. Tasted at the Marquis de Terme vertical.

The 2019 Marquis de Terme was the best vintage that I had tasted in a number of years - this showing suggests that it has improved even further in the last 12 months. It has a clean and precise bouquet with perfumed blackberry, bilberry and crushed stone aromas, the oak neatly integrated. The palate is medium-bodied with sappy black fruit, finely-sculpted tannins, very fresh and vibrant with real precision and tension on the finish. Classy. (NM)

Tasted blind. Blackish crimson. Nicely integrated nose. Dense and dry with very good, fresh fruit in the middle. Good impact on the palate, but it’s a young wine with quite a future ahead of it. A longer-lived Margaux than many of its peers. Some tasters thought this fruit was a bit tired. (JR)
