Punteggio 95/100 · Da bere 2025-2045, William Kelley, Wine Advocate, Jun 2022

The most gourmand, generous vintage Tremblay has produced to date, the 2018 Chapelle-Chambertin Grand Cru is a veritable fruit bomb. Bursting with aromas of rich berry fruit, spices, licorice, vine smoke and plums, it's full-bodied, ample and fleshy, with a seamless, enveloping profile and a long, floral finish. Its ripe structuring tannins are almost imperceptible, such is the extent of its mid-palate plentitude. I expect it to become more serious with bottle age, though it offers plenty of pleasure in its hedonistic youth.

The 2018 Chapelle-Chambertin Grand Cru is exceedingly pure on the nose, offering black cherries, bergamot and touches of pomegranate and wonderful mineralité; it’s actually not unlike the Chapelle-Chambertin from Dugat in style. The palate is well balanced with fine-grained tannins. Not a voluptuous Chapelle-Chambertin, but full of nervosité, with a lightly spiced and very persistent finish. Superb.

(Don't Miss!)<br /> A cool, fresh and markedly floral-scented nose offers up ripe aromas of purple fruit, especially plum, along with background hints of warm earth and anise. Once again there is a lovely sense of verve to the well-delineated and mineral-inflected and rather linear finish that is muscular and powerful. This is very tightly wound and will need extended keeping to flesh out but the development potential is superb.

50% whole bunch. Barrel sample, not yet racked. Riper and sweeter fruited on the nose compared with the Échezeaux, with an attractive hint of lavender. Dense, concentrated but so light on its feet. An elegant beauty. Deep, firm, super-smooth tannins, like a velvet cushion. Dark and floral at the same time. Pure fruited, cherry as it opens. Deep, long, smooth. And seems to have had such a light touch. (JH)
