Note di degustazione
Bottled this spring, the 2018 Vosne-Romanée 1er Cru Les Beaumonts has turned out very well, unwinding in the glass with a youthfully reserved bouquet of raspberries, caramelized orange rind, rose petals and spices. Medium to full-bodied, deep and velvety, it's deep and concentrated, with lively acids and fine, chalky tannins. Readers with bottles in their cellar should forget it for a decade.

The 2018 Vosne-Romanée Les Beaux Monts 1er Cru has a vivid bouquet of raspberry and wild strawberry fruit laced with wilted rose petals and orange pith; good lift here. The palate is medium-bodied with fine-grained tannins, good acidity and a lightly spiced and very elegant finish. There is an understated quality about this Vosne-Romanée that is very appealing; a cool customer, you might say. Very impressive wine from Cécile Tremblay.
90-year-old vines. Barrel sample, not yet racked. Less open than the Feusselottes. Peppery scent like stone dust, overlaying seemingly effortless concentration. Unexpectedly juicy on the palate, the tannins are so fine and precise. Ripe but elegant. Refined and long. I hesitated on the score but I think this is going to get even better. (JH)
