Note di degustazione
The 2018 Musigny Vieilles Vignes Blanc Grand Cru confirms my appraisal from barrel. It has a light candlewax-scented bouquet with hints of undergrowth, wonderful delineation and touches of almond shaving. The palate has a sappy entry, lightly spiced with a twist of sour lemon and tropical notes hovering in the background. Those praline notes remain on the aftertaste. This is a delicious Musigny that will last many years. Tasted at the La Paulée in Beaune.

The 2018 Musigny Vieilles Vignes Blanc Grand Cru, which is aged in 20% new oak, is lucid silver in color. Its gorgeous bouquet features scents of lemon thyme, mirabelle, orange zest and touches of crushed stone, conveying energy and tension. A menthol note emerges with time in the glass. The palate is very well balanced with peach, lemon curd, almond and praline notes. Not exotic but sensual and beautifully defined.
