2016 Simbiosi Beneventano Rosso IGP

This is a gorgeous blend of Aglianico and Piedirosso from the limestone soils of Campania's inland empire. The 2016 Simbiosi is a beautiful vintage with balance and power, extremely tight and compact at its core. It has a long future ahead of itself as its unwinds and fleshes out. Now, in its youth, the wine is brimming with dark fruit intensity and lighter tones of spice, tar, resin and volcanic smoke. There is some astringency on the close, but this too needs time to iron out. Some 7,000 bottles were made.
