Note di degustazione
The 2018 Chambolle-Musigny Les Cras 1er Cru has quite an intense nose of hickory-tinged red fruit, nicely focused with just a patina of oak to be subsumed. The palate is medium-bodied with grainy tannins. Modest weight, slightly chalky towards its second half, but it maintains satisfying freshness. Just a little oak to be soaked up on the finish, otherwise, this is fine. Tasted blind at the Burgfest 2018 red tasting.

The 2018 Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru Les Cras is also showing well, mingling aromas of cherries and black raspberries with hints of licorice and dark chocolate. Medium to full-bodied, velvety and layered, it has a fleshy core of fruit, lively acids and powdery tannins that gently assert themselves on the finish.
The 2018 Chambolle-Musigny Les Cras 1er Cru, which underwent malolactic earlier than the Charmes, has a more backward bouquet and more red fruit, plus a touch of brown spices. The palate is medium-bodied with dark-chocolate-tinged red fruit, and here the oak is a little dominant toward the sucrous finish. The Charmes might be the better long-term bet.
