Note di degustazione
The 2017 Pinot Noir Finn is all class. Polished and refined, but with tons of power, the Finn has so much to offer. It needs time to unwind, but there is plenty of substance and tons of character, too. Bright red/purplish berry fruit, spice, mint and blood orange open up in the glass, but the 2017 is not quite ready yet. (AG) 94+

Pale to medium ruby-purple, the 2017 Pinot Noir Finn has a sexy nose with notions of graphite, aniseed, black tea leaf and cedar with baked black cherries, cranberries, garrigue, warm earth and red berry hints plus notes of dried herbs and charcuterie. The palate is light to medium-bodied, silky, intense and savory, with finely woven grainy tannins and juicy acidity, blossoming with flavor layers on the very long finish.
The 2017 Pinot Noir Finn comes 76% from the estate DuMOL Vineyard and 24% from the Occidental Road Vineyard, and it sees 15 months in 50% new French Ermitage barrels. It’s a deep, dense, powerful wine that has lifted notes of plums and darker cherry fruits intermixed with subtle iron, spice, and earthy notes. With medium to full body, a rounded, layered texture, and ripe tannins, it’s another beautiful wine from this team that needs 2-3 years of bottle age but will deliver the goods through 2027+.
