Note di degustazione
The 2018 Nuits Saint-Georges Aux Chaignots 1er Cru has a well-defined bouquet with dark red berry fruit, much more floral than its peers. The palate is medium-bodied with a slightly lactic entry, a smear of dark chocolate that presently obscures the fruit and terroir expression underneath. Yet, there is a sense of tension on the finish. Moderate length. Tasted blind at the Burgfest 2018 red tasting.

Lovely, sweet strawberries with orange peel and hints of spices, such as nutmeg. It’s medium-bodied with fine, polished and well integrated tannins, creating a nice frame for the wine. It’s very drinkable already, but will be better in 2022.
Barrel sample. Mid cherry red. Peppery dark-red fruit. Elegant, dark and and lightly peppery on the palate. Hard to say if it is peppery or stony but it gives elegance and restraint to the fruit. Moreish and really refined. Moderate length. Extremely well judged. (JH)
