Punteggio 95/100 · Da bere 2028-2060, William Kelley, Wine Advocate, Apr 2021

The 2018 Clos Saint-Denis Grand Cru (Domaine Gagey) is fulfilling all the promise it showed in barrel, unwinding in the glass with aromas of pomegranate, red berries, rose petals, sweet soil tones and warm spices. Full-bodied, velvety and enveloping, with a vibrant core of fruit framed by fine, youthfully chalky tannins, this will repay extended cellaring.

Punteggio 93-95/100 · Da bere 2024-2050, Neal Martin, Jan 2020

The 2018 Clos Saint-Denis Grand Cru has a cohesive, focused bouquet of intense red currant, wild strawberry and crushed stone aromas. The palate is medium-bodied with crisp acidity and slightly angular tannins that will be softened with time. I appreciate the energy and backbone of this Grand Cru. Excellent.

Punteggio 17.5/20 · Da bere 2025-2036, Tom Parker MW, jancisrobinson.com, Nov 2019

Clos St-Denis is on an east-facing slope and calcareous clay soils. The wine is fermented in large vats for 3–4 weeks before maturation for 18–20 months in oak barrels. Ripe and smoky on the nose, powerful and warm. The palate is very ripe, bordering on overripe before a cut of bright acidity and refined powdery tannins. Great intensity and richness with a hint of warming alcohol. Long and burly on the finish, this will reward patience in the cellar. (TP)
