Note di degustazione
Moving to the latest releases in bottle, these are all gorgeous wines that will be even better with 2-3 years of bottle age. The 2015 Châteauneuf-du-Pape Tradition sports a deep ruby color to go with classic notes of kirsch liqueur, strawberries, and garrigue. It’s fresh, focused and classically structured, and will be at its best from 2020-2030. This estate has been run flawlessly by Marie Giraud for more than a decade now and the estate is consistently in the top handful of domaines in each vintage. She’s excelled in the more difficult 2015 vintage, and has produced some of the wines of the vintage in 2016. If you don’t know about Domaine Giraud, you’re missing out.

The 2015 Chateauneuf du Pape is a terrific effort. Cherries and dried spices mingle easily on the nose and palate, and while the wine is full-bodied, it's also amazingly supple, turning silky on the long finish. It may not be tremendously long-lived, but it's delicious.
Bright ruby. Intense cherry and red berry aromas pick up notes of incense, anise and lavender with aeration. Spicy, concentrated and focused on the palate, offering appealingly sweet raspberry, cherry liqueur and floral pastille flavors underscored by a vein of juicy acidity. Closes sweet and quite long, with harmonious tannins building slowly and folding into the juicy fruit.
