Bursting with expressive aromas of green pear, orange oil, fresh pastry and balanced almonds, the 2017 Nuits-Saint-Georges Cuvée La Gerbotte is medium to full-bodied, fleshy and open-knit, with succulent acids and a generous core of fruit, concluding with an elegantly saline finish.

The 2017 Nuits Saint-Georges La Gerbotte Blanc comes from a vineyard planted in 1992 and 1993. The precise, chalky bouquet opens nicely in the glass, traces of apple blossom and orange pith neatly integrated with the 20% new oak. The palate is well balanced, with a creamy-textured opening. The wood influence is quite pronounced at the moment, but it seems simpatico with the passion fruit and pineapple lacing the seductive finish. This will be difficult to resist once bottled. Enjoy over the next four or five years.
