Note di degustazione
The 2008 M. Chapoutier Châteauneuf-du-Pape Croix de Bois, 100% Grenache from the Croix de Bois lieu-dit, is more fleshy and ripe than the Barbe Rac, with ripe, upfront blackberry and raspberry fruit that’s intermixed with smoked herb, mineral, and charred earth character that comes through more on the palate. Medium+ bodied and very well done, with a rich (especially for the vintage), full texture, good acidity, and a chewy, savory finish, this has enough fruit and structure to evolve gracefully for a decade.

Dark red. A perfumed nose offers raspberry, strawberry preserves, herbs, anise and dried rose. Silky and sweet in the mouth, offering lively red and dark berry flavors. Finishes juicy and fresh, with very good persistence and a touch of cinnamon.
Vivid red. Classic aromas of red and dark berries, herbs and smoky minerals. Sweet and open-knit, with a gentle structure and an inviting sweetness to the flavors of raspberry, minerals, candied rose and licorice. The finish comes up a bit short but offers good clarity and tangy red fruit character.
Lustrous cherry red with a bit of evolution at the rim. Interesting nose with real roundness and complexity and just the merest hint of port(!) Easy to like... The substantial fruit covers the fine tannins. (JR)
