Starting out, Feraud's 2015 Châteauneuf-du-Pape is terrific, with a classic style in its leafy herbs, pepper, and dark fruit-driven profile. Ripe, concentrated and balanced, with terrific purity, as well as a mid-palate, it's well worth seeking out in this vintage. The blend is 85% Grenache, 10% Mourvèdre and the balance a mix of varieties, from the Pointu and Rayas lieux-dits (mostly sandy terroirs) that wasn’t destemmed and brought up all in foudre. Both of these 2015s from Domaine Eddie Feraud are outstanding.

Tasted blind. Bright cherry red. Rather muddy nose. Lots of fine acidity and sweetness on the palate and not much tannin. A friendly, fairly early-drinking wine. Slightly green notes on the end. (JR)
The 2015 Châteauneuf du Pape, it offers textbook red and black fruits, garrigue, damp earth and Provençal spice in a medium to full-bodied, pure, elegant style. This is a workhorse styled effort that should be purchased by the case and enjoyed over the coming decade or more.
