The Lespault-Martillac 2018 Blanc is a blend of 70% Sauvignon Blanc and 30% Semillon, fermented in oak barriques, 35% new. It springs from the glass with vibrant notes of fresh grapefruit, lime blossoms and yuzu zest with touches of chalk dust and struck flint. The medium-bodied palate has a lovely suggestion of creaminess to the texture with a lively backbone cutting through the intense citrus layers, finishing on a lingering mineral note.

The 2018 Lespault-Martillac Blanc has quite an elegant nose of yellow fruit, orange blossom and light damp straw aromas; I would have liked more intensity here. The palate is well balanced with orange peel and ginger on the entry. I find this a little pinched at the moment, and consequently a bit short on the finish, so I would afford it 12–18 months to loosen up in bottle.
Made by the team at Domaine de Chevalier, the 2018 Château Lespault-Martillac Blanc is a blend of 70% Sauvignon and 30% Sémillon brought up in barrel. Exotic white grapefruit, honeyed lime, and salty mineral notes all emerge from the glass of this beauty, and it's nicely concentrated and medium-bodied, with bright acidity and a crisp, dry, lengthy finish. It's brilliantly done and has a good 7-8 years, if not a decade of longevity ahead of it.
The 2018 Lespault-Martillac Blanc is laced with sage, lemon peel, white flowers and mint. The first impression is quite positive, but the mid-palate tapers off and the finish feels a tad abrupt. I would prefer to drink this over the next handful of years.
