41% Sauvignon Gris, 39% Gros Manseng, 10% Savagnin, 10% Mondeuse Blanche. Barrel sample. Seems quite strongly Sauvignon on the nose when I know this is quite a cocktail of varieties. Peachy start and then exotic spices and almost Pinot Gris-like breadth. Long and attention-grabbing. Surely this isn’t offered en primeur? It seems strange but apparently this wine has been offered early ever since the 2011 vintage (I bought some 2012). Négociants Vintex offered this white at €10.20 a bottle as early as 15 April 2019, although Vintex add, '(offer not considered as primeur)'. At the same time, the red Retout 2018 was offered at €7.45. (JR)
