The 2018 Reynon has a clean and precise bouquet, although it has closed up since bottling and obviously needs 24 months before it even considers reopening. The palate is medium-bodied with gentle grip on the entry. Quite strict tannins here, and very linear, with a no-frills but focused finish, cedar and tobacco lingering on the aftertaste. Classy, but maybe a little conservative.

The 2018 Reynon is an absolute delight. Plump, juicy and so inviting, the 2018 checks all the right boxes. Succulent red cherry fruit, cedar, spice, new leather and tobacco wrap around the palate. Fleshy and harmonious, Reynon is superb. It is also one of the very finest values readers will find anywhere in the world.
The home farm of the late Denis Dubourdieu, oenologist and academic extraordinaire who died in 2016. See Underrated Ch Reynon . Deep clay and some gravel. Blend of the 2018 was 61% Merlot, 25% Cabernet Sauvignon, 14% Petit Verdot. Fermented in tank and concrete and aged in oak for 12 months. Healthy mid crimson. Fresh fruity aroma and a fresh, fruity palate. Vibrant and lively with well-judged tannins and light oak influence. Not yet subtle but not simple. VGV (JR)
