Beautifully opulent and rich, the 2014 Chardonnay Collezione Privata defies the difficulties of the vintage. This is a beautiful white wine with fragrant tones of stone fruit, honey and vanilla. In the mouth, it offers rich texture and medium density. Chardonnay grapes are fermented in oak (one -hird is new) and the wine rests on the lees for up to 12 months depending on the vintage.

The 2014 Chardonnay Collezione Privata is bright, focused and tense, with all of the depth that is such a signature here. Tropical fruit, white flowers, orange peel, chamomile and lightly buttered notes open up nicely, with beams of salinity that give the wine its freshness and verve. This is an especially bold, savory Chardonnay, but it also maintains terrific energy.
Stelvin. Intense citrus fruit combined with a note of oatmeal and creamy spice. A little bit herbal too – pretty complex and still very youthful. Creamy and generous on the palate, lovely citrus and orange flavours, pure and creamy in texture with excellent freshness. Delicious and long. Oaked but not oak-dominated. (JH)

Situata a nord di Castellina, sul versante occidentale del Chianti Classico, Isole e Olena, fondata dalla famiglia De Marchi negli anni ’50, è oggi uno dei nomi di riferimento della regione. Celebre per il suo Cepparello, Sangiovese in purezza, e per l’elegante Chardonnay.
