Punteggio 90/100 · Da bere 2018-2028, William Kelley, Wine Advocate, Jul 2019

The 2017 Mercurey La Framboisière continues to show very well, wafting from the glass with a lovely bouquet of strawberries, raspberries, incense and spices. On the palate, the wine is medium-bodied, succulent and expressive, with a lively core of ripe fruit, juicy acids and powdery tannins, concluding with a sapid finish. As I've written before, this cuvée's combination of quantity and quality—some 65,000 bottles are produced in a normal year—makes it a veritable gift to wine lovers.

The 2017 Mercurey La Framboisière, a 10-hectare monopole of the domaine , was bottled just before harvest and contains 20% whole bunches. Maybe predictably, it has an attractive, light raspberry jam bouquet with touches of red cherry. The fresh, approachable palate is medium-bodied with crunchy red berry fruit, a fine line of acidity and a dab of spice on the aftertaste.

A very successful vintage of this charming Mercurey. Lots of raspberries, wild strawberries and hints of wild blackberries. Sleek and elegant with crisp acidity and very focused on the long, clean finish. Drink or hold.

Monopole. Lightish cherry red. Raspberry red fruit on the nose. Juicy, scented and pretty. Soft and gentle but persistent. Lovely. Finishes so fresh and mouth-watering. (JH)
