Punteggio 96/100 · Da bere 2019-2039, Jeb Dunnuck, Jan 2019

From vines planted in 1991 and all clone 7 Cabernet Sauvignon, the 2016 Cabernet Sauvignon Price Vineyard comes from a vineyard outside St. Helena, not far from Spottswoode, and was brought up all in new French oak. It’s another head-turner from Biagi and boasts a deep purple color as well as lots of black, smoky fruits, violets, crushed, rocks, and licorice, with some background barbecue notes. It blends power and elegance beautifully and is full-bodied, seamless, and balanced on the palate. It too has two decades of life ahead of it. There are numerous brilliant wines in the lineup from Patria, which are made by the talented Tony Biagi.

Punteggio 97/100 · Da bere 2022-2036, Antonio Galloni, Vinous, Dec 2018

The 2016 Cabernet Sauvignon Price is dark, powerful and explosive, with superb density and power. A rush of black cherry, chocolate, menthol, licorice and cloves burst from the glass in this decidedly exotic, flamboyant Cabernet Sauvignon. Plush, silky tannins round out the huge finish.

Punteggio 97/100 · Da bere 2021-2040, Lisa Perrotti-Brown MW, Wine Advocate, Oct 2018

One-hundred percent Cabernet Sauvignon from 27-year-old vines, aged for 19 months in 100% new French oak, the 2016 Cabernet Sauvignon A. Price is very deep purple-black in color and features vibrant crème de cassis, warm plums, blueberry pie and dark chocolate notes with hints of menthol, rose hip tea, yeast extract and lavender. The palate is full-bodied with a taut line of super ripe, grainy tannins and wonderful freshness supporting the muscular fruit, finishing long and minerally. 125 cases produced.

The 2016 Cabernet Sauvignon Price is an unctuous, exotically ripe wine endowed with tremendous textural richness and precision. Even with all of its intensity, the 2016 remains medium in body and wonderfully nuanced from beginning to end. I can hardly wait to taste it from bottle.
