The 2017 Vosne-Romanée Aux Reignots 1er Cru is now fermented at a slightly higher temperature than in previous years, as Mathilde Grivot wraps insulation around the tank. It already boasts otherworldly purity on the nose of intense red berry fruit, hints of Earl Grey, crushed stone and just a touch of sous-bois . This is very cerebral. The palate is medium-bodied with supple, saturated tannins and real substance and grip. Layers of lightly spiced red fruit appear toward the very persistent finish. Outstanding.

The 2017 Vosne-Romanée 1er Cru Aux Reignots is one of the more reserved premiers crus in the cellar this year, unwinding in the glass with a complex bouquet of small red berries, spices, rose petals and smoked meat. On the palate, the wine is medium to full-bodied, succulent and complete, its layered core of fruit framed by fine, chalky tannins, concluding with a pure finish.
