Note di degustazione
The 2017 Chambolle-Musigny Les Charmes 1er Cru has an open, delineated nose; there’s just a touch of VA in the background, albeit nothing to get too concerned about. The palate is fleshy and well balanced, displaying very fine tension and a sense of energy. Almost Morey-like in structure on the spicy, lingering finish. There’s a lot going on here – and I like that. (NM)

The 2017 Chambolle-Musigny Les Charmes 1er Cru, matured in around 25% new oak, has a perfumed, floral bouquet, peony and incense infusing the black cherry and boysenberry fruit. The palate is medium-bodied with a fresh, slightly confit-like opening, moderate depth and a fresh line of acidity. Then a dash of spice toward the finish lends welcome tension and persistence. Fine.
A pungent nose is comprised by notes of wood and reduction. The medium weight flavors are also attractively rich and generously proportioned with a sleek and supple mouthfeel that is enhanced by the equally fine grain of the supporting tannins on the dusty and saline finish. This is lovely and very Charmes in personality.
