Note di degustazione
Le Clos Village is an isolated walled vineyard completely surrounded by the houses of Gevrey Chambertin, creating a unique micro-climate sheltering it from any adverse weather conditions. The vineyard produces wines with very fine, elegant tannins. Florence Heresztyn-Mazzini calls it their "Chambolle Musigny from Gevrey Chambertin". From 70 year old vines, exotic fragrance mixed with earthy aromas exude from the glass, complimented by an incredibly soft, silky velvet texture and juicy noble blackberry and red cherry fruit. There is a wonderful purity and freshness to the fruit, some tautness and some well measured power on the finish. Exceptional for village quality. Just 5 barrels produced. 50% whole bunch fermented. Matured in 100% oak barrel (30% new).

The 2017 Gevrey-Chambertin Clos Village comes from vines outside the winery, including 50% whole bunches and 25% new oak from Chassin. It has a well defined, slightly stemmy bouquet but with sufficient fruit supporting it. The palate is medium-bodied with a peppery opening, very spicy in the mouth, moderate depth but, it just needs a little more grip and density on the finish. Drink over three or four years.
