Note di degustazione
From a site planted with a northern Rhône clone and vines planted around Tensley's house, the 2017 Syrah Tensley Vineyard reveals a deep purple/plum color as well as meaty, gamey notes of red and black fruits, toasted spice, cured meats, and dried pepper. Full-bodied and concentrated, with silky tannins and a great, great finish, it's a killer bottle of wine.

The 2017 Syrah Tensley Vineyard is bold, pungent and super-expressive, with striking aromatic complexity to play off the inky dark fruit. Grilled herbs, leather, smoke, licorice and menthol add striking aromatic nuance to this super-expressive Syrah from Joey Tensley's home vineyard in Los Olivos.
The 2017 Syrah Tensley Vineyard has a deep ruby-black color and aromas of Jamon de Iberico, woodsmoke, dark chocolate, fried herbs, warm blueberry, black cherry preserves and baked blackberries with graphite and dried flower hints. It's full-bodied and concentrated with mineral-driven fruits, firm, grainy tannins and great freshness to counter, finishing very long.
Leading off the 2017s, the 2017 Syrah Santa Barbara County had already been bottled and it delivers everything you’d expect: rocking aromatics of blueberries, blackberries, lavender, and pepper, medium to full body, an elegant, seamless texture, and a great finish. It’s actually slightly more elegant and vibrant than some past vintages and is going to evolve beautifully for a decade.
