Punteggio 92/100 · Da bere 2024-2042, Neal Martin, Jan 2022

The 2017 Clos de la Roche Grand Cru is precise and detailed on the nose, displaying very good intensity and a slightly darker fruit profile than Castaignier's Clos de la Roche. It seems to lose a bit of definition in the glass. The palate is medium-bodied with sappy red fruit and fine definition and salinity, although the finish does not quite have the breeding or the volume of the aforementioned. Tasted blind at the Burgfest 2017 tasting.

A fresh wine for this site with cool aromas of lemons and herb. Then a rather closed, firm palate the red fruit just able to balance this serious structure. Long, dry and earthy finish. Try to wait until 2023.

The 2017 Clos de la Roche Grand Cru has a detailed, nicely focused bouquet of dark cherries, crushed strawberries and light floral notes. The rounded, velvety-smooth palate is medium-bodied with supple tannin and a polished, orange-peel-tinged finish that lingers nicely in the mouth. Fine, but not extraordinary.

Notions of cassis, plums and sweet new oak introduce the 2017 Clos de la Roche Grand Cru, a medium to full-bodied, layered wine with a fleshy core of fruit framed by chewy tannin. It's a creditable effort from Bichot in this vintage.
