Note di degustazione
The 2016 Nuits-Saint-Georges 1er Cru Clos de la Maréchale Blanc unfurls in the glass with aromas of citrus oil, wet stones and white flowers. On the palate, the wine is medium to full-bodied, with a satiny, textural attack, a deep but open-knit mid-palate and considerable chewy extract, concluding with a stony finish. Mugnier lost 60% of his crop to frost this year, and the resulting wine is paradoxical, with a fleshy, low-acid profile yet a decidedly cool-vintage character. It will always be an atypical vintage of the Clos de la Maréchale Blanc.

(this wine was moved to tank two months before my November visit): Sexy scents of white plum, apricot pit and spices, plus a subtle honeyed quality. Densely packed and seriously concentrated, with stone fruit flavors complicated by a floral nuance. This energetic, long midweight should be very good.
