Punteggio 97/100 · Da bere 2018-2038, Neal Martin, Mar 2019

The 2002 Clos de la Roche Vieilles Vignes is one of the handful of wines from the now retired Jacky Truchot that I have tasted. It is absolutely exquisite, from the heaven-scent rose-tinged bouquet with fleeting glimpses of mulberry to the beautifully balanced, almost weightless palate that fans out with ease on the finish. It is one of those bottles that makes you understand why Truchot's wines are now so coveted. Tasted at a private dinner in Burgundy.

Punteggio 97/100 · Da bere 2014-2030, Neal Martin, Wine Advocate, Nov 2014

Bottles of Truchot are achieving posthumous acclaim and this 2002 Clos de la Roche demonstrates exactly why. The bouquet is everything you could wish for in a bottle of Burgundy: ethereal rose-petal- tinged red berry fruit (sloe, boysenberry and mulberry), almost Vosne-like in personality and blossoming in the glass. The aromatics are so beguiling that they demur you from actually drinking it. But the palate does not disappoint: exquisite balance, weightless intensity, a bewitching crescendo of flavors, tarry mulberry fruit interlaced with seaweed and fennel, leading to a bravura finish. Utterly stupendous.
