Note di degustazione
The 2011 Chardonnay Hyde Vineyard has aged quite well, although I do not see it improving from here. In the glass, it offers up an enticing mélange of candied lemon peel, honey, mint and white flowers. There is more than enough freshness to ensure at least a few more years of very fine drinking.

The 2011 Chardonnay is slow to unfold. Scents of hazelnuts, candle smoke and dried hay mingle with notes of citrus, elderflower and green tea leaves, supported by a crushed shell-like undertone. The palate is racy, fresh and mineral driven, finishing long and lifted.
This shows freshness and complexity with yeast, pie-crust and dried-apple character. Medium-bodied, dense and reserved still. Real now.
The 2011 Chardonnay Hyde Vineyard is surprisingly boisterous, with less of the energy that is typical of the Hyde de Villaine Chardonnays and slightly burly contours. Lemon oil, truffle, almond and floral notes open up in a powerful, intense Chardonnay that is certainly not lacking in personality. `
