Note di degustazione
Youthful purple. Powerful, spice-accented scents of ripe dark fruits, licorice, candied violet and smoky minerals, with a hint of coconut in the background. Juicy and supple on the palate, offering intense black and blue fruit, bitter cherry and mocha flavors that are sharpened by a spicy suggestion of cracked pepper. Becomes sweeter and more lively with air and finishes velvety and very long, with harmonious tannins adding shape and gentle grip.

The 2016 Shiraz Kalimna Bin 28 is another wine that comes from multiple regions in South Australia. It’s a ripe, sexy beauty that gives up tons of blackberry and black cherry fruits intermixed with notions of spice box, licorice, and chocolate. It’s medium to full-bodied, has tons of fruit and texture, and is a pleasure bent beauty that stays balanced and incredibly drinkable. Enjoy it over the coming 7-8 years (it should keep even longer if you’re so inclined).
The full-bodied 2016 Bin 28 Kalimna Shiraz is a blend of fruit from Barossa Valley, McLaren Vale, Padthaway, Upper Adelaide and Wrattonbully. It's a warm-climate, rich, plush Shiraz, with a velvety mouthfeel and lingering savory notes on the finish.
Fruit from Barossa Valley, McLaren Vale, Padthaway, Upper Adelaide, Wrattonbully. Kalimna is a place but they are allowed to use the name. Upper Adelaide is north of Adelaide, back from Piccadilly. Dry but balanced vintage. 12 months in seasoned American oak hogsheads. TA 6.8 g/l, pH 3.6. A bit sour on the end – could do with a little more ripe fruit. Rather angular on the end. Used to be same price as Bin 128. Peter Gago: ‘I keep away from the dollars.’ (JR)
